Matt joins JWT as one of the most awarded Canadian creative directors this year at Cannes, thanks to the remarkable story of a VW Beetle that drove around the world three times (The Story Of VIN 903847). The work was awarded a Silver Lion in the Non-Fiction: TV & Broadcast category as well as a Bronze in the Film Lions, not to mention numerous shortlists at the prestigious festival.
Throughout his career, Matt has been known for strong leadership, great writing and non-traditional thinking; all contributing to the success of a number of agencies large and small. Most recently, Matt was at Red Urban where he developed award winning work for Volkswagen. Prior to Red Urban, Matt held positions at Leo Burnett, Extreme Group and MacLaren McCann. His experience includes work from celebrated clients including Volkswagen, Labatt, Visa, Kellogg, GM and Cadbury.
In addition to Cannes, Matt’s work has received industry acclaim and been recognized at prestigious international shows including The One Show, The London International Advertising Awards, Communication Arts, and national shows: The Marketing Awards, CMAs, ADCCs, and Applied Arts. He also received an award for humanitarian advertising from the United Nations.
