Rebecca Brown joins J. Walter Thompson in the newly-created role of Executive Director, Content Marketing. This role formalizes our content and social media practice and will encompass content strategy and creation, social strategy and creation, brand engagement and outreach.
Rebecca is a pioneer in the digital publishing space, having launched and grown one of Canada’s most respected family lifestyle sites, Bunchfamily.ca, from 2006 to 2013. Leveraging its success, Rebecca founded Rec Room, a content and social media marketing agency with a niche focus on families, which was acquired by Entrinsic, a pure play social media agency, now Engagement Labs. During this 10-year period, Rebecca gained deep experience in social and content strategies for renowned brands including Google, Cineplex, Travelocity, RBC, Gap and McCain Foods.
Rebecca is an instructor at Sheridan College, where she teaches courses on social media strategy, blogging and writing for social media. She regularly contributes to The Grid, National Post and Today’s Parent and was the Festival Director for Social Media Week Toronto. Rebecca cites the fact that Barack Obama follows her on Twitter as a highlight of her socially-active life.EndFragment
